Golfing in Doonbeg
When you stay at Caherush Lodge you'll be at the centre of things. Residents of Caherush Lodge will have free access to the leisure facilities at Quilty Holiday cottages, 50 mtrs. from the house: the indoor heated swimming pool (30 degrees all year round) and sauna, tennis court, play ground (swings and slide) and games room (two pool tables and table tennis).

You'd rather like a day at the sea? Then fish off the rocks nearby or take a boat from one of the several piers in the area. Your fancy is Golf? Then it's Lahinch Championship Golf Course, or the new Greg Norman designed Doonbeg Golf Course or the 9-hole Spanish Point Golf Course nearby. If you like riding then avail of horses and ponies in the local equestrian centres. Quiet country roads, the coast and the beaches invite for walking and bicycling.
Pub music during Willie Clancy Week
The many sandy beaches around also offer plenty of water activities or just relaxing watching the waves rolling in from the Atlantic at the beach in Spanish Point. Surfers find excellent conditions there and just off the coast with one of the most spectacular surfing spots in Ireland. A surfing school is located in Spanish Point in season and equipment can be rented.

If you'd like it less active - spend your day sightseeing. There are the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren region, the Ailwee & Doolin Caves, Bunratty Folk Park, the Loop Head Peninsula, well known for the spectacular coast line, the rare birds, the dolphins and whale watching. Boats leave from Carrigaholt and Kilrush Marina on Dolphin Watching tours. The town of Kilkee offers an outdoor activity centre for all kinds of water sports. Medieval banquets take place in Bunratty and Knappogue Castles.

The area is also famous for the Traditional Irish Music and Set Dancing! Main event is the Willie Clancy Summer School in Miltown Malbay in early july each year. Early booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment!
